What Are Dental Implants Made Of?
Dental implants have two parts: a titanium screw acting as an artificial tooth root and a high-grade ceramic or porcelain crown that mimics the tooth.
The Process:
Ruben will explain the dental implant process in more depth on the open evening. But, as an overview, here’s what to expect.
At the initial consultation, the dentist will examine your mouth and take a 3D scan of your teeth to create a virtual impression. After that, we break the dental implant process into three parts to allow time for healing.
The first part is placement surgery. Our surgeon will gently make an incision into the gum and secure the titanium screw into the bone. Once you have healed, we will create the link between the screw and the crown with abutments. Finally, the crown — finely made to look like a natural tooth — will be attached to the abutment, filling in the missing gaps in your smile.
